A Word From Our Conference Dean The Rev. Ann Marshall Dear Friends and Colleagues: I am writing to share with you an upcoming change in my life, and in a small way, in your lives as well. On June 24, Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg, Ohio voted to call me as their community pastor. I plan to accept the call. My final Sunday at St. Mark's and Mt. Pleasant will be July 29. I will be on vacation after that for several weeks, preparing my house for sale and moving some things to Perrysburg. I will be at the August 7 Ministerium to preside over the election of a new Dean. The new Dean will fill the remaining months of my term until spring 2008, at which time the election for Dean will be held. According to the I-K Constitution, deans are elected at the first Ministerium after the Synod Assembly in even-numbered years. The term is two years, with one re-election possible. However, since we have traditionally not met in July, we have most often chosen our dean at the May or June Ministerium. At any rate, please consider who might be a good choice for the remainder of my term--including perhaps yourself! If you are interested or wish more information, please feel free to contact me via email or phone. I do regret leaving the I-K Synod and the NEC Conference almost as much as I regret leaving my beloved congregations. It was here that I learned to be a pastor, and was given many opportunities to serve, including as your dean, albeit every so briefly. I am proud to be a part of I-K Synod and doubt that I will find any better colleagues in NW Ohio than I have found here. Please hold my congregations, our colleague Sue Socha, and my family in your prayers in these next weeks. Blessings,
